Turn your thermostat down
November 1, 2011Turn down your thermostat during the winter months
For every two degrees that you lower your thermostat during the winter months, you can save approximately 5% on heating costs for your home. A setting of 68 degrees during the day and 55 or lower at night is recommended.
To avoid heating an empty house or waking up to a cold one, use a programmable thermostat, set to pre-programmed heating levels.
An easy way to control your heating setting is with Lutron’s Radio-RA2 System. With its TouchPro Wireless thermostat; an all-in-one solution; that combines the Honeywell brand we all know with Lutron’s innovation. This thermostat can create energy-saving schedules. Another added benefit is controlling it from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone.
